yes, every morning.  I've changed my pillows in case it was an allergy, I keep the heating off in the bedroom, I even take a piriton every night before sleeping and still I wake up hurting to hell and back, mouth and throat are bone dry and yes, my tongue is raw.  It's driving me nuts being like this.  I'm so fed up of always complaining about how much I hurt, how bad I feel, how tired I am, etc etc., and I'm driving my friends and partner to distraction, they must really be getting very fed up with me always moaning.  I've had various guesswork from my doctor about how it might be related to a virus - for which I got prescribed a reducing course of steroids (prednisolone) which helped the pain whilst I was taking them but it all came back as soon as I stopped.  Didnt do a thing for the other symptoms, which I have to admit are very 'flu-like'.  Like you Terri - I've always been active and hardly ever given in to illness,   I don't want some made up diagnosis just to get me out of the surgery, I want to find a cause for all this and get it to stop.  I'm sure my GP sees lots of people who just want a reason not to work, I'm not one of them, I have to work to support myself and I want to do it without being in horrible pain all the time and without my brain fogging up.  I had a mammogram appointment today - I firstly misread the letter and got the time wrong, even put the wrong time in my work calendar (luckily although I turned up late they still saw me), then I had agony lifting my arm over the machine as asked, then when finished, I had the embarrassment of having to ask the nurse to help me get my bra done up.  For heavens sake I'm not even 60 and I'm feeling and acting like a 100 yr old.  This is all so wrong.

Has anyone discussed if any of us suffering from Fibromyalgia could be linked to flu injections?

The last two I have had, gave me a bad reaction, and I am thinking of stopping it.

I have looked up clinical trial on Flu injections and Fibro, and they did trials in 2011 in Israel, but I cannot find the results....makes me wonder why!

What do you think....could this be a link?

Don't think mine is as I haven't had a flu injection for many years and its only the last six months I've suffered from the fibro issues. I'm still suspicious about the viral link though, particularly as taking the steroids short term did have significant affect on my pain levels.

i have felt like this for about the last four years, been having the flu jab for the last two.but the tiredness has developed in the last 8 months but it's got really bad my sleep pattern is weird  I could sleep as soon as I get home from work sometimes I don't have food as I'm to tired to cook, then I go to bed about 8:30pm and I cannot wait to get under the sheets I go to sleep instantly i sleep all night wake up sometimes just before the alarm clock at 05:30am and I fell like I've had no sleep takes me about a hour to come round, my feet feel like they are made of wood they are so stiff in the morning  my back hurts and my right shoulder and neck are really painful. by the time I go out to work at 7:00am the pain has started to ease, by the time I have done my seven and a half hour shift I'm back to the same there's no end to it. I love going to work cannot imagine not working it would drive me mad sat at Home all day.

My reply is being moderated just now.

But basically I was saying do any of you have flu injections.

    They dry your sinuses.

I have started a new discussion on links to flu injections.

I have flu injections every ear..I have never thought it could be this..as I take Amithriptiline at night and they can also do that..also have Sorgrens Syndrone...and that's the main source I reckon..also the meds...mm..make you very dry...but the flu like symptoms I think is the Fibro..it's soo hard to tell sometimes..isn't it...:-) xx.

Also I changed my pillows and sheets to Egyptian cotton and an allergy free pillow...pure wool is best..but my experience is they tend to flatten    too quickly.. I use an artificial saliva too..especially at night..a mint flavoured one..

dont do flu injections ,why add problems to an already stressed immune system . this year the vaccine was incorrect for the virus anyway .

I treated myself to a wool pillow too, I have to say its been great, but as you say it does tend to flatten a little or go a bit lumpy.  I dont suffer such an overheated or sweaty neck and head any more and, sorry to be yukky, I dont 'drool' due to an open mouth either any longer. I like you swapped to egyptian cotton bedlinen, no more polycotton.  Re the flu like symptoms, I'm guessing thats why my doctor took a stab at treating it as a virus because some of the symptoms are distinctly flu like but dont develop further into full blown flu.  I'm amazed just how many people are suffering from these pains and symptoms, it's almost epidemic, yet so far most GP's haven't a clue and just throw painkillers at us.  Anti inflamms dont work at all for me, paracetamol does a little but not completely. I really dont want to move onto opiates and addictive pain meds.

I think that's what we all do a Terri ...do the dr's work at first..some of them have no knowledge at all about Fibro.no wonder it sometimes takes years for a diagnoses...then we get a tad depressed...gee..wonder why.!!! ...it's your health own it I say..I done lots of research about Fibro ...did print outs and took them to the Drs....he was fascinated to see them...ended up he did his own research..then sent me to a at Rhumo where I was finally sorted..have a great weekend..be blessed..:-) xx Find your own answers there is heaps of medical info out there...then you can visit your Dr full of knowledge and knowledge = power..xxx
