Waiting for HSV results!!

I posted in this forum a few weeks ago. Went to the Gyno 3 weeks ago, he said I had BV, no STI's, no yeast, and saw no sores so no swab. I went back yesterday due to persistent pain in vaginal opening when attempting to have sex. He looks at my vagina and conducts a HSV swab. My heart sank, he told me I have a single ulcer in my vaginal opening. I was prescribed difulcan and valtrex. I asked him if he believes it's herpes and he said its unlikely, but if I do i'm extremely lucky because I have very mild symptoms. I don't know what to do with myself at this point. I have random crying fits, I can't study, and it's hard to look at my partner, because I quite possibly gave it to him. Thankfully he's understanding, patient, and optimistic, but sh*ttttt!!!
