Waking up at the same time

Posted , 9 users are following.

I've been waking up at the same night every night at 4:00- 5:00am and I cannot get back to sleep. I wake with feeling very anxious, nervous inside, and air hunger. Has anyone experienced this? I want to get enough air up but I can't , also have a weak pulse.

Hi Mary, I have this problem too. Things that can help, I think, include: Drinking a fair amount of water in the hours between dinner and bedtime. Sometimes this means you might have to get up and pee an hour or so after going to bed. But for me, doing that often means I can sleep better in those hours before dawn. Another thing that helps is doing some kind of resistance training or yoga in the afternoon. In terms of air hunger, are you congested? A Neti pot might help with that.

Yes!!! I can relate to this.. I am awake at 4.10, 5.10, 6.10 and then when the alarm goes at 7 I struggle to get up! I go to bed at midnight as I can't sleep before that, read for a bit, then try and drop off, then the flushes start - duvet on, duvet off! Eventually fall asleep and awake at 4.10! Same every night. I've tried having a warm bath, spraying magnesium on my skin, but nothing stops me waking at 4.10!

Yes this is me every night now. I wake up mostly to go to the loo. But it's frustrating when you can't get back to sleep and you have to be up at 6:00am. Or you do actually fall back asleep but you wake up feeling worse than when you first woke up.

Hi Mary, I too have been waking up regularly between 4 & 5am. I start thinking about things (mainly work!) and start feeling anxious. So I put it down to stress at work as I slept like a log on holiday, until 8am every morning.
