Weak swallowing reflex

Is there anyone out there who has suffered with swallowing problems since they started with fibro?I have been having problems for a while and the other day I seemed to completely lose the ability to swallow. It lasted only for a few minutes and then came back gradually over about half an hour.

Hi Lily, I also have trouble choking/coughing often when I eat, so I'm very conscious when eating..also I get muscle spasm in my chin area which can be very scary, as I can't breath through my mouth,,,but it's fine after a minute or even seconds.but that not too often-.apparently it something I do, but don't know what it is. I get muscle cramps and spasms all the time in my legs etc...rotten Fibro.....hope you get some  comfort and you are  encouraged that your not on  your own ..:-)

Hi Lily, I also have swallowing problems. My tablets get stuck in my throught and have made me vomit a few times. I have found the easiest way is to take one at a time with a spoonful of yoghurt. When i eat i have to take a mouthful of water after each bite. hope this helps.
