Week one down......

Well, that's week one on the meds done.

I've lost 2lb.

12 days before I started the meds, I started a low cal (max 1200 a day) and low fat diet and lost total of 6lbs.

so total weight loss so far is 8lbs :D

I hope I can keep going with 2lbs a week -I think this is realistic and achievable for me - without starving myself or doing without a bit of chocolate!

Whell done on the weight loss. :D I started on the blueys 13th April weighed 107 kilos, had my first weigh in on 29th April weighed 104.5 kilos a loss of 5 1/2 pounds. Like you I would be really happy if I can maintain the weight loss at that rate, a long way to go though, i,ve had no bad experiences yet. i've spent ages shopping, looking at fat and calorie content sure one of the store detectives thought I was up to no good

I tried quorn sausages and a quorn peppered steak this week and enjoyed them. i've eaten weight watchers meals when i've cooked family a meal I can't have, baked a pie, puddings, crumbles and cookies and not eaten any- don't think my will power would have been that strong if I didn't have the thought of an accident in the back of my head!! I did have some fruit cake that my daughter made for my son's birthday which she made with 5% fat and sugar but have no idea how to work out colorie and fat content of some home made meals :?

keep up the good work :D

    Hiya,

    thanks for the encouragement smile

Like you, I have the fear of the toilet if I eat something I shouldn't! It's proving to be a good deterrent!

I have done a load of 'homework' on foods that we as a family eat, and have spent a bit of time looking at things and working it out. I've written a menu for 3 full weeks of what I've to eat for each individual day, and I'm finding its really helpful - not only to plan out meals, but to keep track of what's going in as well!

For example, today I had 30g rice krispies with skimmed milk, lunch was 100g pasta with 100g dolmio sauce+10g cheese. And Dinner was 175g baked potato with 200g sausage casserole (asda jar) MINUS the sausages! with 50g carrots and 50g peas. Asda low fat strawberry yoghurt for pudd. The family all had the sausage casserole, baked potatoes and veg- I just sat my sauce to the side and then cooked theirs.

Later on when I'm peckish, I'll have a tin of fruit (pears or fruit salad - in juice) and 9.30pm is always KIT KAT time! :D

I've worked out my menu meals to be max 1200cals a day and under 15g fat for the whole day. I'm not as hungry as I thought - in fact hardly ever smile I couldn't do without the kit kats though - its chocolate without going overboard :D

You're doing really well, I've got a long way to go too. Ive got another 4stone 4bls to go, but hey - gotta start somewhere

Good luck for this week, maybe speak soon,

    Hiya,

what's happened that you've put on 5lbs? It could be fluid retention maybe?

I'd check in with the G.P. for reassurance and some advice maybe - especially as you sound so down

Have you drastically changed your diet since starting the meds?

I hope you feel better soon and get some advice/reassurance from the g.p. or nurse.

Don't give up - there's always an answer and a way forward smile
