I am 9 weeks post op and have lost 20 lbs since, Sept. I am already a small person and do not need to lose more weight. Aside from the normal gallbladder removal issues, I an dealing with acid and burning in my stomach which has kept from eating fully. Went to see a GI doc and they suspect gastritis or infection. They put on Protonix and I am hoping it works. Also have endoscopy scheduled for March 25th. With all of that said, has anyone experienced this, and how did you all get your weight back?

Hey
im not in completely the same boat as you but i had my Gallbladder out at the end of march this year and although I could do with losing a few pounds anyway i havent put on any weight since surgery! i was on a 4g diet to manage the pain and lost 3st and I expected to put some weight back on when eating over 4g but nothing.
I sometimes get burninng sensation too but also a lot of sickness and still stomach pain. ive been reading about bile malabsorbtion which is more common in people who dont have a gallbladder - look into it and see if anything resonates with you.
hopefully youll get an answer soon!

am going through the same thing i had my gallbladder out in 2018, i had all these issues before my removal though, but in total i lost over 70+ lbs and i would also get burning tummy, sick feeling, no appetite, constipation, and other series of issues and i had a endoscopy and the other one where they put something up your bum and they only found IBS, hemmoriods and mild acid reflux which i do not believe my reflux is mild, because its so bad where it comes up in my mouth and goes into my ears and my sinus and sometimes i cant breath i literally think am suffocating inside, they gave me meds but i dont like the side effects from them so i dont take them, i still suffer day to day basis, becareful with omprezamol, because they were pull of the shelf months back because they found traces of something inside of it that is link to cancer, my dr was telling me, as for the weight i was happy i lost it because am overweight, but it was coming off sudden even when i eat, and if i would feel sick i would lose 5lbs out of no where, it has slow down now but my dr got concerned and ran blood test but didnt find nothing, am now starting to gaining back the weight because i fell off and start to eat bad again
