Weight loss after stopping Mirtazapine

Posted , 4 users are following.

I have put on nearly 1 and a half stone since being prescribed Mirtazapine . This is combined with an insatiable desire for sweet foods and carbs, which I have never experienced before. Can anyone tell me how long it may take to experience weight loss ( I am tiny - 150 cms and usually a size 6 - 8) and usually eat healthily. Despite upping my exercise routine, I have also experienced total lethargy. I am hoping this will disappear too. Would just like to know how quickly I might see some positive results

I have only just made the connection between the weight gain and Mirtazapine so I guess time will tell. Hoping the sweet cravings will diminish too, once it is out of my system

i upped my exercise routine too and nothing shifted the weight until the mirtazipine was out of my system, the withdrawals have been awful too, i think i lost weight after two weeks off withdrawls because of the nausea. i was constantly hungry on it as well, apparently it messes with the lipids in your body too

Thank you , Jacqueline. I have never experienced hunger like it, and for foods I wouldn't normally want. Time will tell I guess.

I also put on a stone and a half if not more... I have been off mirtazapine for 9 months but the weight has stayed even though I am eating healthy and I exercise I think it really screwed up my metabolism so now I've decided to go on a strict diet to see if I can get back to normal, wish I never took it.
