For the past month and a half I've been experiencing action and postural tremors throughout my whole body (most notably thumbs and hands but also legs and trunk and to a small extent neck and face). On top of this I've been encountering spasms, numbness and tingling, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, etc...
I'm going to see a neuro next week, but in the mean time I've been trying to remedy this on my own. I've been taking lots of supplements including a multivitamin, vit d3, vit b12, riboflavin, b complex, magnesium, and omega 3. I've also recently gone from eating fast food, sweets, and junk food all the time to a whole foods diet free of sugar, gluten, and processed foods. However, while my symptoms fluctuate throughout the day they're still very persistent and always at least somewhat present.
In the last couple days I've noticed bananas however seem to give me a 70-80% reduction in tremors for 30 mins to - 1 hour. After that they start to come back stronger, but the effect is profound.
Now, of course the natural thing to think would be the potassium is helping and that may very well be the case. My diet has been very poor for a long time so I was thinking a potassium deficiency was possible. However most meat seems to have a fair amount of potassium and I've always ate a fair bit of meat. I also, though not on a daily basis, sometimes supplement potassium gluconate in doses of up to 400-500 mg worth of potassium. This would be about the same as a banana and if you look at the potassium in a banana it is not that significant compared to our daily need, so what is so special about bananas that seems to be working magic. I'm going to experiment with more high potassium food and reducing sodium as well as keeping up a high banana intake, but I'm very perplexed right now and if potassium is the issue, why do I seem to react to it better from bananas and what could be causing this in the first place? The only med I've taken on a regular basis has been excedrin (aspirin, acetaminophen, caffeine) over the past few years and I'm currently taking nothing else in terms of drugs.

I'm not too sure about the bananas. However a few years back I was in ICU with episodes of severe bradycardia. Hooked up to all machine, injections the works. Once slightly stabilised (but still not right at all) I requested a glass of milk. To everyone's amazement I returned to normal readings within minutes! So I can understand slightly that foods can affect the body in a medicinal manner.
I would suggest rather than supplements at the moment would be to go on a very natural diet. Unprocessed, refined etc incl sodas, coffee etc. Like a detox cleansing process. Sounds like your body is suffering from withdrawal affects from sugars and other items. May take a week /10 days and you will feel rough but worth pursuing. Once you have a clear system then maybe have blood tests done as you will have a natural base level. Easier for a doctor to know if you are naturally missing an important enzyme, vitamin, mineral etc.
Hope that helps.

Hi I’m a 30 year old male that has been having the same issues for 3 1/2 months now. Wondering if you have come to any conclusions?
Thank you!
Joel
