staci... Merry Christmas.. i read your posts and am suffering everything you are!

i do have health anxiety but have sort of managed it except for breakdowns once or twice a year.. mostly around my period. most Er visits have always been in or near period. im 42. the last month ive had horrible weird vision and lightheaded spells on and off everyday. headaches near cycle or on and horrible panic/anxiety. my vision is really setting me off most days. lighting is bothering me all the time, except in the dark. How are you at night??

ive seen the dr, who says anxiety.. and was given ativan last month so now i get to worry about taking something too but im really not coping well. Want to go get hormone tests but right now im trying to stabalize the anxiety this is causing me. The med calms me but i notice my vision is still bad, i just am able to ignore it.. still have mostt symptoms on it too.

Missing my family christmas right now because today has been severe! ugh! all i can do is lay in bed on my elbow, weird but its the most tolerable position somehow.. wearing sunglasses and watching movies. walking is terrible. Headache wont go away fully and probably because ive been in bed but i feel more seasick and lightheaded and so weak up. THIS IS SO HARD..idk how we can go through this stuff and stay sane. Had to take ativan not long ago, hoping i can relax, stop straining and get a little relaxation. i notice last time this happened with low heartrate and panic, i got my period 12 hours after so i feel its coming.. torture.

sorry i babbled lol just so stressed.. peiple will be here in four hours and i hope i can sit through the weird fishbowl vision and not head spin, long enough to open presents.

      HUGS

      Mary,

I am right there with you. If I didn't have the weird vision, I truly believe I could deal with every other symptom. I'm sorry you did not have a peaceful Christmas. We didn't celebrate this year because I have not worked in two months and am on unpaid status. It's just Mom and I, so we walked the dogs and watched a movie On Demand. It's all so sad. To think anything can happen life and see myself wasting time being afraid and full of anxiety. I don't want to have regrets, especially because my Mom is 76 and has cancer. I have a tremendous amount of guilt.

As for your question, yes lighting does bother me. I can't be in ultra bright light like sunshine or in stores, but I also find low light unnerving. Low light causes me anxiety because I have more visual disturbances such as static and flashes. There is no winning solution. It is just constant strange vision and severe anxiety because of it. Am I fainting? Is it a migraine aura? Am I crazy? I can't tell what is real and what is anxiety anymore. I am 43 and it's so hard to believe I was normal two months ago.

I have to find a way to get better and go back to work. I just don't know how to do it at the moment.

I totally get everything you mentioned. When my heart rate drops out my chest feels tight too. I get strange head spells too that make me feel like I'm oxygen deprived. Anxiety super bad. Feel like crying all the time. My balance is off all the time and if I look to the left or right, up or down too fast, I feel dizzy/ off balance. Drs never find anything. 56 and been in menopause 8 years. The heart thing, anxiety and balance issues started getting bad 4 years ago.

Nettie, yes yes yes! To all. ugh. im only 42 but i know this is connected ti my cycle. Is there any time or anything that makes your dizziness/ off balance any better? idk what to do about any if this.. meds are a bandaid..there has gotta be something else. i cant exercise like this ?? can barely use the washroom when its so bad without rushing.. of ciurse this is on severe days which seem to be more and more often now.

      Merry Christmas... hug

I manage the dizzy spells with Clonazapan. I walk every day a couple times a day, try to get plenty of rest, stay involved with my hobbies, friends, limit alcohol and stress. I had a partial hysterectomy 16 years ago so I have no idea what symptoms are connected to what as I no longer have a period. I feel this awful 24/7. I did just start yoga so I'm hoping for some relief! Wish i could offer you more suggestions. Sending a huge air hug! Merry Christmas! Ps stay on this forum. It's such a blessing.

Nettie.. 24/7??? Oh no,im so sorry..

the clonazapam helps your dizzy spells? i take ativan for now and it seems to help with that too.. most other things remain but helps to not send me into a panic and wind up at the Er.

and let me know hiw the yoga goes. i need to get up and start moving and doing stuff again.. i know its adding to my misery. also looking at screen all the time cant be helping.. lol everything is so outof whack.. diet too. just a mess.

HUGS and well wishes..hope today is decent for you. I do have clonezapam but been reluctant to really try it. Stuck in ativan right now.. scared to make the switch because it made me cloudy the day i tried it and didnt take away anxiety for me at all.. was supposed to get on that and paxil, but at a standstill right now.

For me either a .25 milligram dose of the Clonazepan works or even half of that if my day is not too bad. I also have fybromyalgia and this med helps with the pain that accompanies this too. Thanks on the yoga! I sure hope it helps too. Do you by chance have really stiff or heavy feeling legs? This has been really bad lately.

I get this light-headedness too. When I bend over my head is in pain and I always have a headache the days leading up. Oh and the dizziness as well. Brutal what hormones can do.
