What experiences do people have on Gaberpentin

Hi guys, I have just started on Gaberpentin for Nuropathic pain, i had septic arthritis from aged 11 and have had two total knee replacements on same knee, i am only 58 years of age. I have mobility problems also. I started getting shooting pains around the knee and cramping which is extremely painful. It lasts about 10 seconds and i cannot move when this is happening. It is embarrassing if i am out and people i know do not understand the pain i suffer. I was wondering if anybody can identify with this pain and if anybody on Gaberpentin can tell me how they are on this medication please. Nobody seems to understand how i feel.

      Hi

I was on gabapentin for a few weeks for neuralgia. Everything was ok but all of a sudden I experienced bad joint pain.   I am 56 and I've had rheumatoid arthritis for 20 years but it is manageable. I haven't had this amount of pain for a long time particularly my knees so I suspected it was the tablets

I came off gabapentin and thankfully at the same time my face and scalp neuralgia calmed down.  I think the tablets gave me upset stomachs and headaches as well.

There's other things you can try so if gabapentin isn't good for you I would go back to your GP and try something else.

Hi Julie, thanks for your reply and i am sorry you suffer with pain too. I am 58 and have had arthritis for 47 years. I will give the Gaberpentin a go and see if it helps witht the pain if not like you say there are other drugs to try.
