What kind of things can I use to numb or subside the pain?!

On day 3 of being diagnosed but day 4 of my first outbreak and I think today is the worst so far pain wise down there!  The ones around the labia have healed for the most part and some have even disappeared but I have a bunch around my anus and it hurts like hell!  I can’t even sit and only can lay on my side with my knees to my chest.

I’ve tried epsom salt baths, tea tree, witch hazel, pentaton (the diaper rash cream) which was the WORST I am still crying from the pain, lanocin which may as well be doing the same thing as the diaper rash cream.  I’m taking 1000 mg 2x a day for 10 days of antivirals and then lysene supplement 1000 mg x3 a day.

I cannot physically walk at all.  I’ve done cool and warm compresses and it just burns badly.  I have a very high pain tolerance but this makes me scream in agony.  Nothing I have ever felt before.  The labia area is fine it’s the anus that is awful.  I can pee fine and there is no hurt but when I go to wipe I can barely touch.  Is there anything else I can take to try and numb the pain or am I SOL?!  I’m calling my doctor tomorrow to see if there is anything else I can do.

Hang in there girl, day 4 was the worst for me and then it seemed to start to get a little better at a time. I did Epson salt baths and then used a q-tip and applied plain aloe to each sore. I bought plain aloe with chamomile in it and man it was a life saver... I didn’t really think it would help but it’s the only suggestion my doctor had and it definitely made a difference.

So I did Epson salt soak (and I mean dump that stuff in there!), then I dried myself with a cool hair dryer until fully dry. Applied the aloe and let the aloe air dry. Then I would highly suggest putting on a dress or skirt with no underwear!  It’ll get better and you’ll be back to normal in no time!

I missed aloe- I have that as well and it burnt it badly too.  It’s odd though because the only area that burning with anything is my butt.  Anything labia/vagina doesn’t hurt in to apply anything at all but I’m wondering if that’s because it’s healing whereas it doesn’t look like anything is near my butt sad

Try using lanacane cream, it is my only saviour I have found to give me a bit of relief during outbreaks.

I am on day 4 of my outbreak and it is absolutely horrendous, I can't walk, sit, stand, pee, sleep without crying in pain.

I have been taking antivirals, painkillers and vitamins but nothing seems to be helping.

The lanance cream numbs the area and stops the itching for a while but for me i need to apply it constantly.

Hope u feel a lot better soon x

I used it and it burnt so badly that I was screaming.  The only thing I found to work was pure cornstarch and an Epsom salt bath.  That’s it.
