I need some advice as to what supplements you take without taking valtrex to suppress it.

As of right now I have these and I would like to know how many mgs you take when having an OB and without. Thanks!

Lysine

Echincea

Probiotics

Red marine algae

Tea tree oil

Apple cider vinegar

Nothing, just multivitamins and fish oils for general health, and occasional tea tree oil for if and when I itch or because I like how it feels (very refreshing!). It should be noted that natural supplements do not reduce shedding/transmission, although they may help with symptoms and full-on recurrences.

P.S. I am not in a relationship or having sex, hence why I'm not on any of the meds.

Thanks, it's good to know about these supplements and what they do and don't do.

    Vitamin D3

    Beet Juice

Important to take a good multi-vitamin

A naturopath also has me on Thymus.  She also has me taking something called Super Bio Vegetarian.  Some of these are not cheap, but they are much cheaper than being on prescription medication.

How are Naturopath's knowledge of herpes In general?

Are they helpful and knowledgable? My local Naturopath clinic mentions expertise in many conditions and illnesses,

But none of them is HSV. I ask because I am interested in going to one after I see a dermatologist or two.

Being that there is a question as to what is causing my symptoms; h, MS, EBV, Lymes was on the table, etc her goal has been to keep my immune system as strong as can be.  She also pointed out many things in my bloodwork that my regular doctor either overlooked and just didn't care to bring it to my attention.  She also ran special blood tests to look for allergies and any food sensitivities I may have had.  Most naturopaths as with mine are big on tinctures she had me on one for a while.  Some type of antiviral.  She said she gives it to her shingles patients and their lesions clear up in a few days.  Overall, I would highly recommend seeing a naturopath.  Just beware that most do not take insurance although, if they order tests or prescribe meds you can then use your insurance.

Thanks Oddity, some good info there, I will definitley check out a Naturopath, But I guess I should first wait to see a dermatologist first right?!

It's a bummer that they could be quite costly, but the stuff I am going through these days, and the lack of answers I've been getting from CDC and GPs...I have no other choice but to seek every other possible medical help.

We are in the same boat.  I would see the derm first.  Again you might get lucky with a knowledgeable derm.  I'm surprised your GP hasn't sent you to a neurologist.
