whats wrong with me

So for 3 years I have suffered what feels like water/pressure in my left ear with feeling woozy and off balance anxious and detached from myself......the fear of death looms me.......

For a year now it's more constant and I dnt get a break from it when I relax it feels like brain shifts where I'm falling....

Doctors said sinusitis and Eustachian tube disorder but after having a cat scan it was all clear....but I dnt feel any better.im always very stuffy or full of a cold and do a lot of sneezing and blowing my nose.

The bridge of my nose at times can be really painful and the area that would be sinuses really hound me with pain.

I also describe my eyes as not firing on all cylinders there not blurry they just dnt seem to register like they did............

I am a very anxious 33 year old and am convinced I'm dying....I lol searching for answers and all I get is anxiety issues 😢

Hi Sharon.  This sounds really awful and I can imagine how out of sorts it must make you feel.  I've also got an ear issue where the pressure isn't quite right and I often feel dizzy.  Because I am a lot older than you I have decided to just live with it because my GP didn't seem overly interested.  I wonder whether you could afford to see an ENT consultant privately, taking with you the results of your CAT scan?  It sounds like you need an experienced doctor to give you some time and also some reassurances about what's happening and what can be done about it.  If you have had this for 3 years then I can't help feeling that it's unlikely to be anything too sinister.  I'm not a doctor but what you describe sounds very much like sinus trouble and I know that this is something that can be put right.  Hope you will find some answers and not give up trying.  I am also a worrier and know how feeling 'out of body' can really get you down.

Keep fighting the good fight Sharon; you have so much to live for and you need to be on top form for your ever growing family.  Can't imagine how hard this must be as a young mother and also being pregnant.  I do understand how hard it is when you don't feel well enough to join in.  Take good care of you.

Hi i am a mum too and get lightheaded alot. I get left sided headaches, neckpain, ringing in my left ear and dizziness. My ct scan was clear and I am having a private mri because of the long wait on the nhs. The neurologist thinks I might have a neck problem causing some sort of neuralgia. My sinuses get blocked too and my ears get really waxy and blocked (I am sat here with Otex in my ears trying to unblock them to see if that helps as I ve been really dizzy the past couple of days!)

I find it hard to get a def diagnosis - sinuses? migraines?migraines with vertigo?silent migraine? neuralgia? Panic? Stress? (Not surprising really!) Dont think the docs really know. It's so frustrating and affects my family alot so I know what you are going through xx

Hi Lyn, I just heard about Cervical Vertigo and am in Process on reading up,on it.  have a Google round using that first and see where it goes as a lot about it apparently. asi said to Sharon MRI,s rarely show anything up un less it,s obvious and have learned they'Re. MOre for ruling things out! (I,ve had three!), all normal.  Imhad a year of investigating the MAV (migraine associated vertigo) complete waste of my time, the physio etc etc!,  We only have stress and anxiety because of the condition, it is not the cause for majority of us!  I also have ringing in ears, ie Tinnitus, it,s all associated with Vestibular stuff. Sorry to,say Otex won,t help, have tried that.  even have rubbed vapour type stuff around back of my ears!!  If you get wax though, That's a pain. But it won,t make you dizzy, just affection,re hearing a bit,,but our vertigo is caused by something else and as you say Drs Don,t seem to know.  Have a read up on the cervical stud, see if it rings any bells!

If you have already seen an ENT and got.nowhere, ask to be referred,to a NEuro Otologist.  It sounds scarey, but it Isn,t. they go into  far more detail than ENT (they train twice as long!), and will get to the bottom of it.  It could be a vestibular problem and as your eyes are working overtime to maintain your balance as your ears and or vestibular system,is 'off' they feel strange (I know this feeling well!). also as a young Mum and pregnant you need to be fit, so they need to do more for you!  Scans, MRIs are really done more,to,rule things out, so aren,t the best for diagnosis if there,s nothing obvious showing up.   You,re not dying, but I know it feels awful, most people don,t realise how much we depend on this system until it goes wrong, I took it for granted I know.  the anxiety will make it worse, so try not be by reading up,on this condition whilst getting your GP to refer you to right consultant.  Look upon line at Veda, theyalso  have a Facebook page, Google VEDA first and that will take you there. lots of,good info from them. Okay?

    Hi M. Sharon, Ben here,

It sounds like you have allergies going on keeping you in a state of chronic reaction.  That is not a good way to live, because with all of the irritation going on it makes a perfect environment for an invader ie: virus or bacteria to take up housekeeping.  Being with child you probably don't want to take too many drugs, so it is a hard situation.   You could have one of at least a dozen or more different disorders that cause your symptoms of woozyness and displacment.  The inner ear is definitely a good place to start looking for a problem due to the symptom you mention about your eyes.  The inner ear area called the semicircular canals is where eye control information comes from and if it gets inflamed it will cause balance problems and your eyes can't compensate correctly and it fatigues you quickly when you try to manage with the bad information.

The sneezing and sinus drainage are typical allergic reactions that can be treated with drugs, typically a nasal spray, especially one of the newer ones that inhibit 5 or 6 different chemicals that your body uses to react to the allergy, but you don't want to be drugging your new baby if at all possible, so you NEED to see someone in the medical field to offer minimally invasive solutions for the chronic inflamation.

Please keep going and keep trying to find a solution, but please keep seeing the pros'.  Good luck.

Sharon, this sounds dreadful. If you still don't feel better, I think you should get a copy of your Cat Scan and go to another specialist, ENT probably.

At one point years ago I had dizziness and the ENT guy said I had a sinus infection--for a year!  He gave me antiobiotics and it cleared up. However, I always have chronic sinus issues, though they are not what brought on my vertigo.

I know it seems simple, something they would have found, but it sounds like swimmer's ear. Just in case, you dilute white vinear with an equal amount of distilled water, and using an eyedropper, put put 3 drops in the affected ear 3 times a day. They don't say how many days, but I should think if there's no change after a week, it's probably not helping. (When I do it, I saturate a cotton ball with the mixture and squeeze it three times into my ear.)

But you probably do have something going on with the sinuses. I was given Nasacort nose spray which helped, though I think it's very expensive and probably any brand would do.

Regardless of what I've written here, you have to get a diagnosis from a competent doctor. This is not normal.  Oh, and you're not dying!
