Generally IBS should not wake you up during the night. Schedule an appointment with a Gastroenterologist. You may need to go through your GP to be referred but that is no life to be living so they need to find out what is going on. Best of luck.

Try keeping a food diary to identify any problem foods and have a look at Fodmap. When I first got IBS,  the pain woke me up during the night.  Everyone's symptoms are different.

It sounds like you are stuck in a cycle. I personally would go and see your Dr and see if you can get something to relax your body to get you to sleep.

Ibs is made worse by stress. One of the biggest stresses on your body is lack of sleep. I don't mean sleeping tablets but something like amitriptylene.

Ibs is also a symptom of something else. My ibs is a symptom of my chronic fatigue syndrome and it can also be a symptom of fibromyalgia.

How awful for you.    As far as I know I haven't got IBS, but I was talking to man in hospital who had similar symptoms to you and he told me his Doc had put him on a drug called Mebeverine.   There are other drugs that help of course, but as said by another, your G.P. should investigate this.  Good luck

You could always try Immodium to calm down your trips to the loo.  Are you on any pain medication for IBS like Buscopan?  You can get this over the counter.  Nurofen also helps.
