Hi,
I've been off my work for 4 months, been taking mirt 15mg then 30 mg then back to 15mg. Felt totally demotivated on them and depression has got worse. Are they worth sticking out as doc now suggesting I wean off and try ceralapram instead? My depression and anxiety is supposedly situational but I feel it's deepening...

I totally get the early morning anxiety too! I wake early, lie worrying then stagger downstairs for breakfast feeling shaky and anxious. I'll let u know if it gets any better once I'm mirt free but I think it unfortunately may just be an anxiety thing. I take beta blockers too, might try taking one before I get up to see if that helps. I know it's a real consideration to change meds. You're doing amazing keeping it together as a single mum, sending u a hug.

Sorry to read of your suffering, the work place is so crazy with everyone expected to do the work of 2 people nowadays, the stress can be unbearable ~ don't beat yourself up about having a breather (or being off work with stress), most people are suffering they just keep quiet about it, which is worse. Glad you and Grant can empathise, that'll be good for you both.
I just wanted to say, Mirt' has been good for me for over a year (although I am now doing a slow taper - 10% a month, the recommended route !!). I thinking if you are seeking therapy that Mirt' can be your safety net, withh it having a slow release sedative which last pretty much all day, (for me anyway). This sedation can be demotivational in itself, for some it helps them recoup' but its not for everyone.
I would think if you went from 30 mg to 15 mg you may well have felt worse for a while because this is a big jump down, did you have an effect from it? How long ago was it?
I was on Citalopram before Mirt' and it didn't touch my anxiety and insomnia, so I can't recommend it, it seems to be the UK doctors first AD of choice it seems.
Best wishes to you and Grant, I hope you get well, but take your time, no need to make yourself worse.

Yeh I think I prob came down too quick off the mirt but it was making me so fuzzy and I could hardly be bothered to speak to my own family on it! I went down from 30 to 15 bout a month or so ago. Now pretty much off them but it's been a bit bumpy. I'm glad you've had success with mirt and wish you all the best with the more sensible tapering, you've spotted my impatient streak I see!
