When to have a bath?

Hi everyone 😊 I am 2 days post op from a anterior and posterior repair could anyone please advise me on when is to have a bath? Thanks 😊 X

    If you weren't told about having baths it would be safer to have showers for the first 6 weeks. This is because some surgeons use a type of suture that shouldn't get wet. Having said that I would contact the ward staff because you should have been told.Β

      Hi hun,I'm 12 days post anterior repair. It hadn't been too bad for me if I'm honest.but I've realised that a posterior repair cash be more painful keep resting

      up for at least 2 weeks then slowly build up your walking. No lifting or bending for at least 6 weeks.keep us updated.xxxx

    Hi, I have had the same operation as you, firstly how are you feeling mine was 11 days ago.

    six weeks for a bath, that is the advice from my surgeonΒ

      Hiya Hun not great atm. Very drained and feeling very heavy down there. Left the hospital yesterday and all I've really done is sleep. Please tell me it gets better as the days go on lol. I thought having a freshen up would make me feel abit better just had a wash down and I feel awful so I have got back into bed πŸ˜” How are you feeling now? Hope your resting lots xxx

      Please rest as much as you can and don't worry that you feel this way because it is very early days and a few years ago you would have still been in hospital. Stay in bed if you want to, drink plenty and take painkillers if you have pain x

      Thankyou matron I know now I need to rest I've learnt my lesson lol I keep feeling faint so my hubby has told me I'm not allowed out of bed until I feel better πŸ˜” Xx

      Hi mtg85, I had a few issues and stayed in hospital for four nights I think, I couldn't wee, but managed in the end, I was like you I stayed on the bed as sitting is not nice for me I had som up and down days feeling emotional crying all that sort of stuff I was back at the hospital yesterday as I have an infection, but all of that aside I am 11 days post op and starting to get a bit better walking round the garden a few times a day trying to do some sitting on my bottom, I have had two angel sent to me matron who has been the person to keep me on the straight and narrow and help with what I don't understand and welshgirl will be my life long frend we have talked about everything lol, if you need a chat I am here, stay on the bed do nothing love and get better xx

      I'm pleased you're listening to your husband. Don't even go to the bathroom on your own. I know what it's like, when I'm unwell I'm prone to fainting so you need to drink plenty because that will help your blood pressure to rise a bit x
