    Hi Barb

I am from Canada as well. Do you have a prolapse bladder or have you ever had surgery for prolapse.

i will try but it is definately like the day before Christmas and I wasn't able to sleep last night. I did the same thing the night before I got induced when I had my son too. I am hoping I wil sleep tonight since I didn't sleep much last night. I am nervous. After surgery did it feel the same as after giving vaginal birth or worse?

Yes, my doctor had me scheduled for the 27th but at my last consultation she realized I needed a lot more work than she initally planned for so she moved it back so that she would have more time to do my surgery. She said it was an outpatient surgery but I chose to take the 23 hour watch thing so I can stay in the hospital over night. I am in Indiana.  I am hoping everything runs smooth. I am only 20. I had my son when I was 15 and I was cut from front to back, tissue, muscle, and all and she just stitched my my skin and it stayed open and my perineal muscle deteriorated and my bladder and rectum prolapsed. My sphincter muscle is damaged too from delivery of my son. He got stuck pretty bad in my pevlis. But, my surgery is bright and early at 7 am in the morning. Any last minute advice??

Its not the same as when you gave birth because then your perinium was cut but you didnt have vaginal wounds. It is a little worse but you'll be so medicated after the surgery that you wont be in pain. By that evening or the next morning they'll have you up walking and the pain is very manageable. I would not call it excruciating pain and the worst part does pass within the first couple of days. After that you'll feel ok because you are resting and taking it easy. You'll be tempted to think you can get up and act like a 20 year old but dont or your body will let you know it. Good luck! I'm thinking you'll heal faster than any of us because of your age!

I am so happy to hear that. I know it is a serious surgery but i couldn't imagine it being way worse than giving birth. Thank you so much for clearing that up! I have been so confused on what to expect and how to prepare so I've just been reading and researching to see what others have found to be the most helpful. I will try to post tomorrow from my phone how I am feeling and how it goes. I am excited. I have wanted this for so long!
