Hello! In an aim to feel less alone with a diagnosis that I never get to talk about, I was wondering if we could all share the following;
Where are you located?
How old are you?
What type of gHSV do you have?
I don't want to feel alone in this anymore!

I'm 47, live in Louisiana, and I have HS-2..it sucks and I'm having a hard time dealing with this...all hope is lost it seems..

I'm in Virginia, and I'm 38.
I have gHSV-1 which I caught by receiving oral sex. I had my first outbreak back in late October. So far, it's been the only one...thank God.
It was definitely a recent infection because the swab/culture was positive, but my blood test was negative. My boyfriend at the time tried to blame it on someone else that I was briefly involved with about 3 months prior to my outbreak. A couple months later he even accused me of giving him a coldsore on his mouth.
I'm freaking out about how it will affect my ability to be able to have future relationships. I'm worried about the outcome of my "conversation" about HSV with a future partner. It's the thing I dread the most. Fortunately, I have friends that I can trust and was able to confide in them about it. However, since they don't have this virus, I can't really get advice from them regarding "the talk."

i am in London, 24 years old and I have type 1! I'm quite interested to hear others stories so that I can take comfort that this isn't the big deal its made out to be.

All of you with HSV1 genitally- how often are ur outbreaks? How can you tell when they're coming? How do I ever go about dating? I have a boyfriend right now and I don't want him or myself to feel stuck with eachother.

I just got my blood test result yesterday and it's HSV 2 positive.
Fortunately I not yet have my first outbreak
