hi everyone
i have been thinking long and hard about possible triggers to the severe depression i have experienced three times in my life - this being the third and worst.
my point is i have realised that each depression was preceded by an extreme and intense period of stress and anxiety. then came the debilitating depression (to accompany the anxiety in the cruellest way).
has anyone else, like me, discovered this?
i am now more convinced than ever that ANXIETY precedes depression (well certainly in my case) and needs to be addressed as soon as it rears its ugly head.
if i make it through this time, avoiding or deflecting the stressors that cause anxiety or ADDRESSING the anxiety early, will be my priority.
i cannot go through this again.
please share your thought?
thanks and blessings to all

You are most definitely correct in saying anxiety precedes the depression! Anxiety is SOOO draining on one's physical, emotions and mental health. Being proactive is my best advice which it sounds like youre already good at. Youre awesome!

Hi ana, i understand you totally, with me depression follows the anxiety after the ILL physical health. Try to explain to the doctors that the ANXIETY and not the depression needs treating and see what they suggest - all i get it we'll put you on antidepressants! I am tired of talking to my doctor about this she is NOT treating the underlying problem when i tried someone else she insisted on hospital tests. I am still waiting for them but it's proactive, not reactionary! So sorry i've done nothing but talk about me. I hope we all get the support we need.
