Why is breathing so difficult?

Hi,

For almost 9 months now, I've been feeling terrible. It feels like my airways are so tight, and every inhale takes so much effort. I feel short of breath very easily, doing next to nothing. Feels like I'm gasping for air all day long and suffocating. My chest also feels tight, like it can't expand enough to get a satisfying breath. And it's not getting any better.

All my tests came back negative, except my pulmonary function test showed possible mild asthma.

I have tried all non-medicated things like CBT, meditation, yoga, deep breathing etc., but nothing helps.

I feel like I'm at my wits end. I don't even know how I make it through each day, but it's very difficult. I look forward to sleeping, because that's the only time I feel normal. I have become depressed because of this. I cry a few times a week because I can't deal with this a second longer.

Please help! Anyone experience this? Is this anxiety? What can I do?

perhaps the mild asthma makes it a little more difficult. But you can still feel better with a little support. were you seeing a therapist when you were doing CBT? you would get help with the breathing if you were to see a counselor or do a virtual visit regularly at least until you get it under control and you would know what to do if it happened to againI found that I had to practice deep breathing meditations almost regularly.
