Will be starting Zoloft

So my dr has prescribed me 50mg Zoloft instead of the Citalapram. I asked to switch because I did not care for the side effects of the Citalapram. Can anyone tell me the good side effects of starting Zoloft? And should I start with half the dose first, then add the other half?

Honestly the first few weeks were hell for me. Lack of appetite, feeling nauseous, heightened anxiety, shaky feeling, restless legs while laying down. Most of that lasted for about 2 weeks. I did 4 days of 25 then up to 50 and upped to 100 on the 20th last month.

I'm not sure how much it's helping during the day but for me, insomnia was one of my big issues prior - my mind would be running a million miles an hour when I was trying to go to sleep - and I've been getting a solid 6-8 hours a night since starting Sertraline.

I was nauseous for about a week. But if I didn't eat, I felt worse. So lots of bagels, smartfood popcorn, etc. I never did a half dose. I always increased by 50mg, all the way up to 200mg before I tapered down (just as bad, if not worse), and switched to wellbutrin based on my side effects. Good luck. Just give yourself a week or so to feel the starting side effects go away.

Yes I’ve figured if I don’t feel like eating, I need to force myself to eat. I always eat certain things when I’m feeling bad, pb&j, turkey sandwiches, drinkable soup, basically very bland food

That's what I was doing too. Cereal in the morning, applesauce and peaches for lunch sometimes some pretzels or bagel chips then chicken noodle soup and toast for dinner. Lots of water throughout the day and powerade every other day for the electrolytes.

I started at 25mg, the up to 50mg after a couple of weeks. I took citalapram a few years ago and started on 20mg, this was horrible!! I started slower this time and was much better x
