Will I suffer bad/severe withdrawals from taking 0.5 Xanax for less than a month?

My doctor prescribed me to take Xanax 0,5 mg as needed for bad panic attacks.

The thing is that I've been having bad panic attacks almost every night.

My bottle consists of 30 pills and I still have a lot left.

I don't take it everyday, only when really needed. So more like every other day?

I didn't take it last night and I felt like I couldn't sleep and I feel more anxious.

Is this a Xanax withdrawal or me just being anxious? (I am nervous about an upcoming appointment)

I just wanted to know if 0.5 Xanax is enough to become dependent on it and suffer bad withdrawals like seizures or something.

I only take it once a day and it's at night only. I never abused it

Hello, while I am no expert on the amounts of Xanax one should take, or it's effects, I do know that taking .12mg 3 times a day has caused me some major issues.  You should read my post "Xanax Tapering Off"

    Good luck

I've read your post and it was helpful, thank you.

I've been having the worst anxiety ever because I have so many appointments coming up that can probably change my health forever or make my anxiety better.

That's why it's been so high and that's why I've been taken Xanax almost every night. I'm trying to see about withdrawals but all I get are people who've been on it for YEARS. I've been on it for less than a month so Idk how bad my symptoms will be rolleyes I already feel shaken up and increase in anxiety but idk if that's too soon to be withdrawals or it's just me being worried

I can only speak for myself, but I am doing whatever it takes to get off of Xanax and metropolol, they are actually making thhings worse for me.  I have found that deep breathing exercises and meditation work wonders, as well as few natural supplements, which I will start taking again, once I have weaned off the meds.  My advice to you would be to listen to nature or ocean sounds at night, medium volume and let them take you away.  Let it play all night long and picture yourself there.  See if that helps.

What does the doctor mean by as needed ? These medicines are sensitive so have to be taken carefully. Consult some other doc.
