Withdrawal from Paroxetine.

Been on anti-depressants for 14 years and due to troublesome side effects my G.P is weaning me off 50mg to 30mg. I am feeling really rubbish today with dizziness, headache and feeling sick. Has anyone got any advice ?

I would recommend going off VERY slowly in order to avoid withdrawal symptoms, which can include physical, emotional and mental symptoms.  I never knew anxiety was part of withdrawal, so would always go back on the meds when I started to feel anxious. If you go really slowly you can avoid bad symptoms.  It is generally recommended to taper 10% from your most recent dose.  Google ‘surviving antidepressants’ and you will find helpful information on tapering.

    Good luck!
