Worried about friend - need advice!!

Hi everyone,

I have a friend whose sister was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor last year. Since her operation to remove the tumor, the cancer has spread to the liver. Thankfully, the tumors are small and slow growing. However, her sister/my friend and the topic of this thread hasn't been doing so well. She's been booking doctor appointments twice a week for months now, and she's had MRI's and several ultrasounds and blood tests. She was even told to keep a fluid balance chart. She has not been diagnosed with anything despite all this, and this started in march of this year, or maybe a bit earlier, around the same time she got her first boyfriend. She told me that one doctor told her that it was all due to stress, and she was not happy with this explanation. However, I think this is largely psychological - maybe she is stressed over her sister and worried about cancer herself? Or maybe it could be for affection? I know it sounds bad, but it seems rather suspicious to me (Not that I'd ever tell her that, or that I have these theories) She is constantly unhappy, and I have no idea what to do to make things better, and I'm always worried about her.

Anyway, sorry for such a long message for something that can probably be explained in much less words. Any advice on how to approach this would be so appreciated!

Perhaps a clergy person of her faith can comfort her and give her the type of advice that the medical profession cannot.
