Worried abt herpes?!

18 weeks ago had a one time unprotected sexual encounter. Drunken stupidity! I took a plan b two days after. 5 days after I had extreme itching and burning. I examined the area and didn't see any sores or blisters however I did go to an urgent care after I tried using a monistat 1 day which didn't help. It actually hurt worse. The dr did an exam and took some swabs and told me I had bacterial vaginosis! I was given flagyl and diflucan. I finished these with little to no relief. I went back to urgent care and was tested for everything including herpes. Hsv 1 igg was positive at 38. Hsv 2 igg was negative. They told me the hsv 1 was prob pre existing since childhood bc the number was so high. I have since been tested for herpes 4 other times. The most recent being at 16 weeks. Again, hsv 1 igg was 39 and hsv 2 igg negative. I've had symptoms pretty consistent (burning/itching) but not sure if it because I am obsessing and focused or not. I do have some good days. Never have seen a blister or sore and I check myself daily. Should I let it go or continue to test? Or could it possibly be hsv 1 genitally?

I should also say tested negative for everything else including bv and yeast multiple times. I also had positive hsv 1/2 igm but they did titers for 1 and 2 that were negative.

Unlikely HSV1, because your IgG was already so high not long after that encounter. IgM is useless for herpes, so disregard those results.

Do you think because of my high hsv 1 igg that it could be delaying seroconversion of hsv 2 igg. I just can't understand why I have had symptoms for so long. Herpes is the only thing that makes sense. I did have some pimples on my butt and under my butt like top of my thigh but then again I can't say I haven't had that before. It seemed more intensified but maybe Bc I was so focused on that area. I also think guilt is playing a huge part bc I am married and this was a mistake I made. So between guilt and fear I think I have myself panicked.

No, that wouldn't impact seroconversion. There are many things that can cause genital symptoms. No need to fixate on herpes.
