Worried again - sorry!

I am not sure all this sitting around is good for me, it is giving me too much thinking time but could I have some honest opinions please.

I am now 2 weeks post op. Bleeding has at the moment stopped (although I am aware it may return) but what is concerning me now is how it is feeling. I am tender and sore which I expected but there is a rubbing sensation when I walk which is really uncomforable. It is hard to describe almost like a popping feeling but it is making any movement around the house even difficult.

Is this normal? Do I need to call the hospital / gp / consultant? One minute I think it is fine it must be the stitches / swelling then the next I am convince the surgery has failed, my head is all over the place.

I do appreciate I am not an easy patient and you have all been so kind and my husband has the patience of a saint. Can't wait for all this to be over.

Thanks

    Hi Claire,

Think I've had that feeling too like a bubble that is squishy, popping describes it best.

At 2 weeks post op I found it really difficult even doing a 5 min walk. You feel so dry and irritated, and wounds are very swollen still which makes it feel as though prolapse is still there, but its not. Seems to take forever to recover, early days yet and still need to be horizontal most of time.

Probably nothing to worry about but matron will know best and should be on forum soon!

Look after yourself and take progress very slowly.

    Phyl xx☺☺☺

Hi Claire, I'm 8 weeks from ant/post repairs with TVH. At 2 weeks it was still really uncomfortable for me to walk. In fact I spent the first six weeks mainly lying down. I think it's all the swelling. I also got air trapping and still do. I know exactly what you mean about worrying. It's so hard not to over think everything. It does get easier x

Claire everything you describe is normal and you have done the right thing resting for 2 weeks. Walking can be difficult and if you saw the operation performed you would understand why. This will get better but you must take things slowly. Remember I always say we heal and recover at different rates and I unfortunately was one of those who took a long time so I know how you feel. Take small steps Claire you will get there but you must be patient x

Thank you everyone, I know I am being difficult but the reassurance does help so much.

My parents have to leave this weekend but I have managed to sort school runs and clubs for next week so have another week and a half of total rest lined up.

Gill, there is not much more I can share. I have had some bleeding which has presently stopped but I am told can come and go for some time (longer than the 2 weeks that I was told is hospital - this was worry number one). Other than that I am sore and tender with this rubbing /popping senssation when walking. I have no other aches or pains at present, fingers crosssed. Op was 14th April so a few days before you.

Clair, keep in touch love, you are no difrent to me poor matron had that many messages yesterday from me, I felt the stitches and thought the operation had failed when it is normal, I just wasn't ready for that.

the postiria operation is so visible it shocks me, stitches ect, I have stopped looking as it started to really scare me.

      the matron settled me down.

Thanks for all the responses, feeling much perkier today.

I think I possibly over did it on Wednesday. Not that I was doing much but I was sat up rather than lying down for a couple of hours in the afternoon to play with the kids. Never really considered that sitting rather than lying might be over doing it!

I was more careful yesterday and feeling much better today. Just settling in for a day on the sofa with the computer, TV and my book and a friend popping in for coffee later. Its a hard life....
