Hi all
I am currently on the list waiting for a rectocele repair . (Cystocele repair and Hysterectomy done some years ago now).
I am 49 years old and my consultant mentioned that the vagina will "change shape" after surgery and that intercourse could be painful. Not sure if he meant permanently or just whlist things are healing.!!
Any help on this subject grately apreciated.
thank you

After quizzing husband he said that things were tighter but he wasn't complaining about that. Otherwise he didn't notice much change. He is quite a gentleman though so probably wouldn't say even it had changed shape.
Everything still working well though!

By the way, Matron if you don't mind I change the subject I had this morning a lot of pain inside my vagina and the feeling I had something inside. The pain has lasted 2 hours. I have not had any pain for 2 months (I remind you I had ant repair and hyst. 6months ago) and I was happy. I have looked at the area and everything in its place. I suspect it could have relation to intestinal gas and fullness of my rectum I have been feeling since yesterday. This morning I have been with a lot of intestinal gas and a bit constipated, Ihad my belly swallen all morning becarse of gas, in fact I had pain from the vagina to the belly 😔 What do you think? Should I be worried? Hugs!!

Tries againlast night and it was painful but not as much so.
Quizzed husband and he felt things were tighter but he wasn't complaining otherwise no changes.

The pain on first having sex was painful! I also have a bladder prolapse and I onder if that has got worse (wasn't repaired at the surgery) and this caused the pain. I also have an inflamed ovary so this could be it?
However nothing felt substantially different

Sorry to interpret, wanted to just say I've got a stuffy cold, Al blocked up , sneezing, coughing and blowing nose, can feel it straining my posterior repair getting really sore and nippy. Doingy best to minimizer any damage. Doing lift as squeezes, and trying to cough, and blow nose gently. Steaming with towel to try keep sinuses clear. Can't believe this is happening after being so careful, worried it's still early days.

I am still pretty dozed up, not so sore this morning when I initially woke, but getting sore again as day goes on, cough getting worse.
Still steaming sinuses and gargling with TCP, will buy 'beachems flu plus' to take over next 2 days, hopefully dry it all up while at work.
Don't really like taking anything prefer letting it run its course!
Thanks for asking
Phyl x
