Wound with whitish discharge on the root of my penis

A few days ago, I've noticed a reddish type of wound on the root of my penis. Its located in the area where the penis connects to the abdominal area. The area is reddish, was painful at first but now it is not. It was also very itchy, but now not so much. The biggest worry for me is a whitish discharge that slowly builds up on the area. It has a very unpleasant smell and after I clean it off, it appears again after a few hours. Its not an STD since I have not had sex for more than 2-3 months. The redness seems to have improved as it was a dark red at start, while now the color is almost the color of my skin in the area.

If you've got something that is creating white discharge near the base of your penis, then you should see a doctor.  You could either see your GP, or if you're in the UK, you could go to a genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic - google "GUM clinic near me" for details.

If you could update this thread and tell us what the doctors say, it would be appreciated.  Good luck.

It's not impossible it could be an STI btw, as they can lie dormant for months or even years.

Thank you for replying. I have not seen a doctor, however what I did was apply some cream that is used for rashes and blisters that I've already had at home. It has worked for me and the area is no longer itchy or painful and the white discharge has dissapeared. The rash is not completely gone, but is definitely slowly going away.
