Y’all I HATE the “heavy weird head” 😩

Every time I get this I get so freaked out.
I know a lot of my symptoms stem from anxiety. I’m in a new and amazing relationship and I feel so safe and secure with him, and I’ve noticed when I’m with him I don’t have NEAR as many physical symptoms as when I know I won’t see him that day. And trust me I am NOT the clingy type- quite the opposite actually.
But the weird heavy back of head feeling, sometimes almost feels like there’s a “thumping” or “clicking” back there- but there’s not...it’s so hard to describe. I absolutely HATE this symptom. Sometimes it moves into a headache or neck ache and sometimes not.
What do those of you who also have this do to remedy it, if anything?

Oh my...you describe exactly what I have! It’s a tightness in my head that is mostly in the back and runs down into my neck. Sometimes I feel a pressure in my ears and aching behind my eyes. This seems to occur for several days and then goes away for a while and then the cycle repeats itself. I can’t track my cycle because had hysterectomy two years ago but am pretty sure I’ve reached the menopause stage of this. I do think that my estrogen levels are still fluctuating even though blood test 4 months ago showed I had practically none. (Think this test was done at a low estrogen phase.).
I’m going through this head tightness right now, since yesterday. It makes me feel like my blood pressure is sky high because I can sometimes feel my pulse throbbing in my head but when I check it it’s about what it usually runs. I sympathize with you....hang in there! 🙂

I always feel SO much better when someone else understands!!
And yes! The pulse thing- I hate that it gives me anxiety so bad that I’ll then start feeling it like hypersensitive to it in my NECK and I freak out.
And yes same thing, comes and goes. Then tightness behind eyes, sometimes ear fullness too-
I do notice also that many times during one of these episodes my stomach will start gurgling.
I wonder now and then if it isn’t connected to an Ibs or digestive issue?
But health anxiety ALWAYS makes it worse!
Thank you SO much for replying!

Yes...health anxiety is terrible! Unfortunately a lot of peri and menopausal women suffer from it. I was really bad a few years ago and had several emergency room visits where there was nothing found to be wrong. I was positive that there was something wrong with my heart because I would get a lot of chest tightness. Had ekgs, echocardiogram, stress test, chest x-ray, ct scan of head and chest and even had a ct scan of my heart with dye injected. Every single test came back normal and my cardiac calcium score was 0. I finally had to tell myself that my anxiety was making me focus on every little ache or pain and blowing it out of proportion. I’m a retired nurse so that made it even worse..the things I could imagine were wrong with me! I do take Ativan 0.5 mg as needed for anxiety and I don’t hesitate to take it when necessary, which is usually early evening. I’m not concerned about the people who say “be careful or you will get addicted”. I’m more concerned with my quality of life. I also know that this stage will pass and I’m starting to see this as my symptoms are occurring further apart and with somewhat less severity. 🙂

Hi, I had the heavy head wobbly head, it felt like my scalp was moving..I think the clicking or cracking could be in the neck part...I get that when I first started peri but do still get the clicking in the neck from time,I just ignore it, because I heard people with this before my friend was one she also had it too..I'm glad you found someone congratulations to you.

It’s comforting to know so many women suffer from the same crazy symptoms- I just wish none of us had to deal with it.
What would we do without this board?!

Congratulations in your new relationship. I have had this all the 2017 and I really hope goes away with 2018.
Sound like Anxiety definitely, I have been using just natural help like Bach Flowers stress relief pastille, you can find them at Whole food market or Amazon. Every thime I start feeling tense I put one in my mouth and helps a lot. I have the same symptoms as you have and it is very hard, specially today that I have the flu my hears are sounding fullness is very annoying, heart palpitations high no great feeling. I used Ativan because was prescribed to me and it was worse. Now I am trying to stick to vitamins B12, stress b complex and every vitamins that can help and my doctor said I lot of walk honestly i haven't have a step for a week with the flu 😷 I don't have energy. Wish you the best
