I take it your having a natural peri like i did no HRT. ( having gone 11 months no periods)
When i was at your mark 11 months no periods last year, my hot flushes returned really severely having 20 plus a day in summer last year after non for years.
I began peri at age 39/40 i am 20 months post meno now.
I find again now, that hot flushes have increased due to spanish summer heat, i have also had a Vit D blood test again and i am needing top up as insufficient result ( 28)
Also after researching HRT alternative is alow dose anti depressant after me refusing this two years ago, i have now began 10mg Escitalopram ( i actually take even less my choice of half 5mg) even lower dose.
Already i am amazed my flushes have reduced no end and the anxiety has improved too ( taken edge off)
I couldnt hack another summer of severe flushes / palps again so this was at least worth a try and i am glad i did.
I cant take / wont take HRT, only use Ovestin vag ( estriol) ovules for dryness thats all it treats, via my gyno.
I have annual private well woman checks here, so monitored.
I am age 51 next month.
Good luck hun.

i am just getting over third bout of shingles in 5 months 😥
So not too sure what symptoms are what these days..
Just make sure i eat well and boost on vits etc, Vit E helps too, and Chelated Magnesium, Vit D & and B vits, i having rest off Vit B6 and B1 but still have B12 injections.
Keep positive and yes have a warped sense of humour ( you sound like me 😃)

I empathise with you completely - I've just had breakfast and started the day like a bear with a sore head, screeching at the state of the kitchen (I didn't wash up last night because I was too upset at whatever so it's all my own fault). Honestly, my reactions are completely out of proportion to whatever has wound me up. Like you, I wish it would all just go. I know what you mean about having an 'edge'.
Crap start to my day but even typing this and posting it to all you sharing gals is good for me and I feel myself calming down. The hot sweats are getting hotter just in time for the lovely summer. Yippee! At least you can strip off a bit in summer. In winter I think I must look like a right loony frenetically disrobing down to my Tshirt in the street. Having a natural peri here and just wishing it would all end.
You are not alone, Bobbins. Be kind to yourself. ValX

I uderstand what you are going through. My moods are up and down since I have been in post menopause since December. Crying, yelling, just wanting it to go away then little bit of palpitations, and anxieties are there too.
I'm not on HRT either, I have been on a small dose of Zoloft and Ativan for depression and anxieties. My sister thinks I should try the natural progesterone to help with my moods and my palpitations The ones made out of soy or yams. I'm going to talk to the doctor about it on Friday.
just wish everything will go back to normal up and down I'm tired of it
Take care hope you feel better

pity you cant see a Gyno instead of Doctor, they dont understand menopause ..
Zoloft can make some feel more depressed, is is worth changing to another one ...
As for progesterone creams .. All natural progesterone creams are made from yams or similar.. ( doesnt make them safe ) see dangers of natural progesterone.. My Gyno said big no no .. Not safe.. Mess women up ..
and did me.. ( restarted my stopped periods ) and gave me a breast lump.
if you try.. It could restart your periods as well..
See a Gyno if you can

think i have asked you this before
why do you take Zoloft and Ativan when they interact ?
lorazepam ↔ sertraline
Applies to:Ativan (lorazepam) and Zoloft (sertraline)
Using LORazepam together with sertraline may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating.
Some people may also experience some impairment in thinking and judgment.
You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications.
Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you.
It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs.
Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
