I quit drinking about a month ago I was very heavey drinker. When I stopped I started having panic attacks and anxiety everyday. So I when to my doctor because it became unbearable. My doctor prescribed me Zoloft 100mg n told me to break a little piece off the pill each day for a week the move up the next week and so on till I was at 100mg. So I started four day ago doing this breaking off a little piece and taking it. But for the past four days I've been sick after taking it to the point of not been able to eat and if I do eat I throw up. Also been more nervous and I have a feeling of a lump in my throat my thoart feels dry and score at times. My question is is these normal side effects and how long do they usually last?

Six to eight weeks usually. Good luck! Have you tried a twelve step program for support.

Good luck with stopping drinking.  I think Zoloft is a good drug, I just could not tollerate it.  It is supposed to be one of the more tollerable ones.  I had the same side effects for three days then had to stop taking them.  I would talk to your DR about perhaps another option for medicine. Best wishes
