Disability Information Scotland also provides a wide range of disability-related information, services and resources to subscribing members in the voluntary, public and private sectors throughout Scotland.
Their aim is to improve the quality of life for disabled people in Scotland by enabling information providers to offer accurate, up-to-date and relevant disability-related information.
To achieve this, their key objectives are:
- to provide members with cost-effective national disability and impairment related reference information;
- to encourage and support good practice in disability information and advice services.
Disability Information Scotland operates a fast, cost-effective transcription service, transcribing small to medium size documents into accessible formats (audio, Braille, large print, etc) with discounts available to member organisations. For larger documents, phone/email (see Contact page on website) for a quote and timescale.
