The Equality and Human Right's Commission (EHRC) was given the mandate bby Parliament to challenge discrimination, and to protect and promote human rights.
The EHRC seeks to maintain and strengthen this heritage while identifying and tackling areas where there is still unfair discrimination or where human rights are not being respected. Their mission is to act as a catalyst for change and improvement on equality and human rights.
Their roles include being:
- An outcomes-focused strategic regulator.
- A promoter of standards and good practice.
- An authoritative centre of intelligence and innovation.
- A trusted partner.
