MERU is a charity which custom designs and manufactures aids and equipment for children and young adults with disabilities (aged from birth to 24), when their needs cannot be met by commercially available products. The organisation is part of Queen Elizabeth's Foundation for Disabled People Family of Charities.
Equipment manufactured by MERU includes seating, desks and bed adaptations, communication aid and PC access devices, learning and leisure toys, mobility aids, and items to help with daily living (eg, feeding, bathing, toileting, etc), as well as therapeutic equipment.
Their additional range of ready-made disability products is designed and manufactured in-house by engineers and volunteers, in response to requests from families and therapists. Sales of these affordable solutions help support their custom-making service.
