Potter's syndrome is the term used to describe the total absence or malformation of infant kidneys. The incidence of the syndrome is approximately 1 in 4,000 births.

The Potter's Syndrome Support and Contact Group aims to support parents who have had a child born with Potter's syndrome and to put them in touch with other parents in their area so they can meet and support one another. The group has some literature available on the syndrome which includes a description of the syndrome, the function of the kidneys, Dr Edith Potter's research which identified the syndrome, current knowledge of the syndrome, its diagnosis and possible reoccurrence in subsequent pregnancies.
