Who they are
The Moira Anderson Foundation based in North Lanarkshire, Scotland was launched in the year 2000 by Sandra Brown as a legacy to Moira Anderson and her family and as a place of safety and support for children and adults who have been affected by childhood sexual abuse.
What they do
The aim of the charity is to provide help to children and adults who have been affected by childhood sexual abuse and support those individuals in whatever way they can.
Services they provide
They provide counselling and therapeutic services as well as ongoing support by trained staff. They also offer a weekly “POP IN” service to clients in which they operate an holistic approach, to spend time in a safe, comfortable and non-judgemental environment.
They facilitate and deliver “Safe Hands” training and workshop programmes, which are aimed at all ages and groups to promote personal safety strategies for everyone. They also deliver awareness presentations and talks to schools, nurseries, churches, etc, about keeping safe and the effects that childhood sexual abuse can have on the individual and society.
