The Pelvic Partnership is a charity registered in England and run by women with Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD), now known as Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP), for women with PGP and their families and carers. They encourage women to seek treatment and advice early to minimise the impact of their pain and to avoid increasing immobility.
Their aims are:
- To provide support and information about PGP to women with PGP and their families and carers.
- To inform healthcare professionals about PGP and to encourage evidence-based practice among all health professionals caring for women with PGP.
- To raise general awareness of PGP and the benefits of manual therapy for treating PGP which is usually a mechanical problem and responds well to treatment.
