3 weeks post total hysterectomy bright red blood loss

hello. I'm 24 days post total hysterectomy (lap) I've only every had a very time amount of pink discharge when wiping at toilet but last 3 days I've been bleeding bright red blood to need a pad and to change during day. this AM I also passed a blood clot about the size of a plum. I'm totally unsure if this is normal. I'm feeling OK in myself just the odd twinge I'm back to driving a week ago. and having to do all chores in house due to been a single mum of 2 kids. I've rang gp this morning and got to give it 2 more days to see if bleeding stops if not I'm to ring back.
