Trimalleolar fracture November 28th and on the 29th ORIF surgery with 2 plates and 15 screws. Surgeon reviewed the X-rays and stated that the bones and healed. I am on my second script of PT trying to strengthen the ankle. I have pes planus (flat feet) and when i walk my ankle is turning. Its feeling like bone on bone. I tried orthoties inserts, which didnt work because ankle turning in the inserts. I am 62 yrs old and healing is slow.

Can trimalleolar fracture aggravate pes planus? Can the fracture tear ligaments and tendons?
