67 yr with new tentative diagnosis for GCA. So many questions.

So. I had a tender head for 3 days and a rare for me temple headache, back and shoulder pain I could not relieve with massage. Dr. Googled symptoms and found GCA.. on 3rd day I went to Dr for labs hoping to rule it out. But nope, they urged immediate 60 mg Prednisone and lab work. Lab work markers came back high but just barely high. Ultra Sound came back negative but was done on 7th day of Prednisone. i refuse to get the temporal artery bypass. Top risky for facial nerve pain If I get another Ultra Sound after getting to low dose Pred and possible return of symptoms witn lab markers, will there be less of chance for false negative?
