Amaurosis Fugax - anyone have this and a subsequent stroke?

Hi there - my husband has had a suspected TIA (amaurosis fugax) and is being evaluated by our GP. He has already seen an ophthalmologist who tentatively diagnosed it. We don't have a stroke clinic where we live so we will need to wait for a referral to get an ultrasound done etc. My husband is a non-smoker and is not overweight, with not great cholesterol levels, mild hypertension and who does moderate exercise for 30minutes daily. He avoids trans and saturated fats and takes Vitamin D & C regularly. Not on any meds (yet). My question is - have any of you had amaurosis fugax and then a subsequent stroke in the three month period following? I'm praying this won't happen before we manage to get a full analysis and a treatment plan/surgery. Any experiences of this would be hugely appreciated! Thank you 😉

Everyone has access to a specialist stroke consultant.

The guidelines say ultrasound of blood vessels in the neck should be done within a week of the event.

Ophthalmology or your GP should have referred to the nearest TIA clinic urgently.

Has your husband had an ECG and been started in aspirin? Also started on or had dosage of statin meducation increased?

Stroke consultants would want total cholesterol below 3.5 and BP below 140 / 70 I think.
