Are my fingernails normal? Recent change in shape

Posted , 3 users are following.

I'm a 38 year old male and recently noticed my nails are changing shape from the normal c curve. They seem flat on top with steep sides and slope downward and to one side at the front. Should i be concerned and visit my doctor? I have no known medical conditions

Cant see much wrong with your nails, they look quite healthy. You could try taking a low dose iron tablet one a day to see if it helps but it may just be the way you are. Obviously if you are really worried see your doctor but they look OK to me.

Hi, Stephen! As Marina said, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with your nails. They have quite a healthy coloration and texture. The change in shape may be due to a weakening of your nails.

If you want, you can see a doctor to make sure that everything is okay and perhaps prescribe a vitamin or nail strengthener if needed.
