Bad breath(fart).

So I've been experiencing BB for a few years now. Just like everyone else I've tried many things with no success. At first I thought it was my mouth but starting to believe it's something in my gut. I'm tired of getting "did you fart?" comments. Thing is I believe it's in my gut is because I've been suffering with bloating and passing gas all the time. So if I'm passing gas a lot and my breath smells like the exact same...there's got to be a connection. I notice it gets worse when my mouth is dry, which seems to be a lot of the time. Not sure that's due to my gut or because I'm always stressed/anxious around people and it dries my mouth out. Another thing is I think it may be linked to my MERCURY FILLINGS and wondering if anyone with BB here has fillings..? I've also noticed skin rashes that look like ringworms and uti's off and on. I went for a H Pylori test and waiting in results and I've been on the candida diet for about a month now and really not seeing a difference. Thing is I've not always had this. I've had many relationships and they were long lasting. It's hard to pin point the exact time when I started getting comments. Keep in mind it's been a handful only of comments, but those were enough to take precaution around people. I don't feel like it smells all the time, but when I exhale deeply or use certain letters like "H" and laughter. So please let me know if you have fillings, trying to find a connection. I know we can beat this. It's hard to function everyday, trust me I know. You can be handsome and rich and would t matter if you have fart breath. A mentally challenged person has better luck functioning in life than we do! I know talking helps, I've only briefly mentioned it to a doctor, but she was skeptical. I'm willing to keep in contact with people via phone or/and Facebook so we can support each other and figure this out together. It hurts to be alone. Thanks.

I had h-pylori breath test and was positive. I had metranidazole, Amoxycillin and omeprazole for 1 week. At the time my saliva stopped stinking and I thought I was getting better breath. However a few weeks on and my mouth tastes horrible again and I smelt my own fart/garbage stench when talking to people. I will ask doctor to retest for h pylori and hope that is the culprit. i will keep you informed. I really want saving from this social wrecking ball.

Yeah, I've heard for some that those antibiotics work or they work while taking them then return. Right now I'm taking Manuka honey. You should read up on it. It's actually great for h pylori. I think the test was wrong so I'm taking this honey just in case. I've barely been on it a week. It can take up to 6 months. Just really read up on H pylori and Manuka Honey.

Since you say the smell of your farts is about the same as your bad breath, you must not rule out the possibility that it has something to do with your stomach and constipation in particular, which results in improper digestion and further compounds the problem.
Try a high fiber diet.

Daniel,
just found your post and it was something of a relief to discover that i am not the only one - not that i would wish this on anyone!
The embarassment of this is destroying my life and i am becoming a recluse. Eating out, being in confined spaces with other people, barbecues, etc., cause me real anxiety as i dread the possible onset of symptoms. As a consequence, i just avoid such situations, but this is no way to live and i am miserable.
The worst of it is that when it happens, i am the only one that doesn't know as i can't smell it - as with all bad breath instances. Plus, it's not like you can go up to someone and say, excuse me but do I stink?
I did pluck up courage and seek medical help, but they just seemed bemused and tried to suggest that it was all in my head. One even suggested that i should just ignore it. My response to this arrogant idiot was to inform him that i would like to give him the symptoms for a day and see whether he could just 'ignore it'!
I hit a brick wall with the NHS and resigned myself to my fate, but it seems to have got worse of late and so desperation has re-ignited my efforts to find a way forward.
I have fillings that are silver and i guess they have mercury in them. My teeth are in very good condition though and so i know the odour is not from there.
I asked a couple of close friends if I have bad breath and they stated definitely not. So it is an intermittent thing. I think it is more prevalent after eating, or when I am training in the gym. After drinking alcohol, the room that i am sleeping in will have a strong odour that will be there in the morning.
It is interesting that you occasionally get UTIs as that is quite unusual for a man. I also get this and the doctors could never understand why it should be. It could be coincidence of course, but it is so unusual that it makes me wonder!
Would be good to hear how you're getting on and feel free to get in touch. That also goes for anyone else that is cursed in this way. Would be great to get a combined effort to try and crack this as it would give me my life back.

Sometimes I think mine doesn't smell constantly, but I'm not sure. I know if I've been working all day, my mouth feels dirty, but I think that's not totally abnormal. Some people just have really good oral bacteria. Guessing I don't and have to be extra careful what I consume and make sure to brush after meals and try not to stress because that causes dry mouth. I have notice the little things on your tongue, on mine they seem a bit long, and seems bacteria loves to just cling to it.
