Every few years I get a fever blister on my lip when I'm under stress. A week ago I got one inside my nose. I took Acyclovir 800 mg every 8 hours for 5 days and it went away quickly. I just happened to have it on hand. How do I know if it was a fever blister or shingles? If it was shingles, can I get the vaccine without it causing it to come back?
