Buttock and Leg Pain at Night, osteoarthritis on sacroiliac joint

Hello,

Not sure whether I should have posted in pelvic joint group or here as my condition is related to both.

I am a female, 39yo with 2 kids.

It started with pelvic issue on my first pregnancy 11 years ago, mild leg buttock cramps at night and aching pubic bone after birth. It got worsened on second pregnancy, where I can't walk for a long time, can't climb stairs, can't lift heavily. Eventually it gets better with exercises.

However since my second child's birth, the leg pains at night are getting worse. During day time, I don't really feel the pain so much as I keep moving and stretching. However at night time, I would feel my legs and buttocks so sore and inflamed. It's not like sciatica with the shooting pain. It's more like dull aching pain. I would toss around sleeping on my back, side, or on my tummy but it will come back. This has been going on in the last 6 years.

I also noticed that the buttock and leg pain gets worse in the luteal phase, peaking in the last week before period. For the rest of the month, the pain is still bearable as long as I wear comfy shoes (Skechers go walk). If I use flat shoes or heels, the pain is really bad at night regardless the menstrual cycle.

Went to acupuncturist, naturopath, osteopath, chiropractor, sport physiotherapist, pelvic-specialist physiotherapist, massage therapist, none worked.

Early this year I was referred to pain management specialist, got blood work and Xray done. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis on the sacroiliac joint. Blood test shows no sign of rheumatoid, Ankylosing spondylitis was also ruled out. Had steroid injection on both pelvic joint with no effects. I was also given different medication, can't remember the name now, one of them was an anti-depressant. But none of them really helped. The specialist now offered to do radiofrequency denervation procedure. I'm still considering this as it will cost me around $6k per side. Have also mixed review of the success.

On separate note, I also occasionally feel ache on my upper arm and forearm when it's cold or very humid day. But the pain management specialist only said that this might just be originating from my sacroiliac joint arthritis.

Does anyone here experience the same issue?

Thank you in advance.
