Can 300mg - 375mg of venlafaxine cause low kidney function?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I have been on 300 mg of venlafaxine for 8 weeks or so and still not feeling great. I had bloods taken before Christmas and my kidney function came back slightly low. I feel i would like to increase to 375 mg to see if it helps before completely changing medication but im worried this medication is affecting my kidneys.

Also, is it better to take Venlafaxine in the morning or at night?

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

you'd need to consult your doctor regarding liver function. I find it best to take mine (300mg) in the morning. that way for me I can easily manage to take it at about the same time. I've always taken antidepressants in this manner to be consistent. I understand that at 300mg and above Ven can increase blood pressure and side effects can be exacerbated. Hope this helps!
