celexa vs citalopram is there a difference

Just curious does anyone know if there is a difference between the two? I know citalopram is just the generic brand but would it make a difference to have the actual celexa?

They always say generic is the same. I don't agree with a seizure med I have taken but I've only taken the citalpram and not the Celexa. Switching between the 2 maybe noticeable for some. If insurance coverage is good I'd go with the name brand. IMO

I take actually, 2 seizure meds for a Traumatic Brain injury 4 years ago. Tegretol and citalpram. Been on the citalpram (Celexa) for years but had to change because of Interactions to fluoxetine.

Hi Scott, I take celexa which is the generic. Having taken both the original Cipramil and the celexa I have not felt any difference, although some people may say otherwise. Good luck. Lee.
