      Hi Missy2,

This info if from the net I am not a clinician.

Looks like you can get cancerous and non cancerous tumour in that area as well as a sacral tumour a little higher up.

      Often slow growing.

Symptoms pain when sitting and low back pain which I have.

A rare conditon and back surgeons often fail to scan the coccyx.

Chrodoma is a possibility a very slow growing tumour.

You can also fracture that area too.

I need reasurance I do not have this as my pain symptoms for internal rectal prolapse do not exactly add up.

And my previous back scan of 2 years ago did not cover that area.

I began in 2010/11 with mild symptoms when lying in bed at night time.

Change of bowel habits, urgency, all leading to anal pain especially on waking after lying on my back early morning and more so when sitting.

Prior to the anal pain I have had low back pain for many years which was thought to be facet joint pain.  Usually on waking.

I have the MRI scan next week, and obviously hope there is no pathology.

Just posted, but realise it is a very rare occurance.

Hey for your change of bowel habits...have you had a colonoscopy?

I hate them because you can't EAT all day and that kills me..LOL.

Also, with age I think our bowels probably change.

Glad you are having an MRI to ease your mind.

      Hi Missey2,

Yep Ive had prob most tests. I had a normal colonoscopy.

Had the examination due to one bout of bleeding.

My pain does not add up to prolapse, so this test albeit rather late is a test I asked my doctor to refer me for.

It is not a test suggested to me by any clinician.

I have my concerns as I already have some other pathology.

      Best wishes,

      Sandra.

I do think (like me) you definetly have health anxiety because you - YOURSELF...are saying you don't really have any of the symptoms...but you are still subconsiously convincing yourself that you may have this.

      Best wishes on your MRI...
