Hi

I've been on amitripyline for bladder pain at 10mg for two weeks recently going up to 20mg. I have started experiencing a cold numb almost wet sensation around my buttocks, thighs legs and feet. it isn't always there but frequently is. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

When I first started taking Amitriptyline I experienced a super warm feeling around my thighs and buttocks with a tingling in my legs and feet. This eased as my body adjusted to the medication and dose.

If you're worried speak to your GP.

Before going to the GP, I suggest you lower your dose from 20 mg to say 10 mg and then 5 mg . See if that makes a difference to the numbness. Whether or not it does, it will help the GP make a better diagnosis.

You should know that the drug works on the central nervous system and causing numbness and/or tingling (as WingGirl28 mentions) is a known side effect.

What should be your focus is whether on a lower dose it "does the job for you" and does not give you numbness and/or tingling.
