Been on Omeprazole for many moons. After throwing many indigestion remedies down my neck, It has been remarkable. Suppose I am lucky, no side effects.

    I suffered for years and I was so scared to take the omeprazole. I finally got up the nerve in january and it has been helping me too. However, I am scared of all the negative things people say about it and I'm afraid I will have to take it forever. People have told me if you try to stop it the acid will be worse so now I feel like I'm trapped. So confused....Well for now the meds help stop my chest pain which was unbearable and would last for hours a night.

      I have had the stuff for about 8 years or so. No noticeable side effects, but certainly a liberation to lifestyle. hope it works for you.confused

      So your doctor is fine with you taking it for that long? Does your doctor ever say anyting abour long term usage?

      No, and he is a switched on GP. Have an annual MOT and, until recently, that was it.

      Sorry, a general checkup with the nurse specialist regarding hypertension, choles, medicines and the like. Also, my pharmacy does similar.
